I have another little gallery of drawings to share this month, this time with a focus on faces! I’ve been experimenting a lot lately with stylization. With faces, I’m trying to add sharper angles and straighter lines to otherwise organic shapes. Couple that with high-contrast digital ink and you’ve got a slightly comic-book-y style!

I’m really happy with how these turned out! I could definitely push the stylization a bit further, especially with the top two portrait-pairs. But that’s something to work on in the future. Since these were created digitally using Procreate, I have a little timelapse to share too!

After spending way too much time over the years studying facial anatomy and simplification, I’m finally starting to feel comfortable drawing faces. These sketches definitely helped build my confidence, breakthrough pieces for sure!
